Memorial Hospital of Martinsville & Henry County Names New Chief Executive Officer

Jerry Dooley, Interim Chief Executive Officer (and Market President) for Memorial Hospital of Martinsville & Henry County (MHMHC) today announced Michael D. Ehrat as the new Chief Executive Officer at Memorial Hospital effective March 16.  
    Ehrat, who has more than 20 years of experience in physician relations, employee engagement, patient service and quality, as well as operations and fiscal management, comes to Martinsville from Texas City, Texas, where he most recently served as Chief Executive Officer for Mainland Medical Center (MMC). Prior to his tenure at MMC, Ehrat, served as Chief Operating Officer for Skyline Medical Center (Nashville, TN), and before that he served as Associate Administrator at Centennial Medical Center (Nashville, TN).

I am confident he will lead our hospital with the unique combination of courage and compassion needed in today’s healthcare field.”

    Ehrat received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Athletic Training from theUniversity of Southern Illinois (Carbondale, IL), a Master of Physical Therapy from the University of Indianapolis (Indianapolis, IL), and Master Degrees in Health Services Administration and Business Administration, both from the University of St. Frances (Joliet, IL). Ehrat maintains several professional affiliations including being a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE). He has also been active in the communities he has lived, serving on the Board of Directors for the (local) Chamber of
Commerce and the (local) Health Department, to name a few. In his free time, Ehrat enjoys outdoor activities including fishing, running and reading history. He and his family (wife Cindy and their four children) are currently in the process of relocating to the area.
