Memorial Hospital Opens New Specialty Clinic in Martinsville

Martinsville, VA (January 12, 2017) – Memorial Hospital of Martinsville & Henry County (“MHMHC”) and Memorial Hospital Physicians announced today that Martinsville Orthopedics & Sports Medicine has opened a new clinic on Greensboro Road in Martinsville. Dr. Robert “Butch” Cassidy began providing orthopedics and sports medicine specialty care to new and existing patients at the new location on Monday, January 2.
“As the demand for orthopedics and sports medicine has grown across our region, Memorial Hospital recognized the need for another specialty clinic in our area,” said Michael Ehrat, Chief Executive Officer at MHMHC. “Dr. Cassidy and the team at Martinsville Orthopedics & Sports Medicine will increase our community’s access to high quality patient-centered orthopedics care.
Dr. Cassidy has been a physician with Memorial Hospital Physicians, formerly Martinsville Physician Practices, since 2013, and most recently practiced at Bassett Primary Care. He received his medical degree at Georgetown University (Washington, DC) and completed his residency in general surgery at Presbyterian St. Luke’s Hospital (Chicago, IL) and orthopedic surgery at UCLA (Los Angeles, CA). Dr. Cassidy commonly treats problems related to arthritis, sports injuries, spine injuries, fractures, sprains and back pain.
Martinsville Orthopedics & Sports Medicine is located at 2960 Greensboro Road next to Planet Fitness, Dollar Tree and Martinsville Family Medicine. The new office features six exam rooms, a casting room, a procedure room and a new x-ray machine. The clinic is open Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm, with walk-in availability. A second location of Martinsville Orthopedics & Sports Medicine (formerly the Bone & Joint Center) is located at 1100 East Church Street in Martinsville.
