Memorial Hospital Welcomes New Family Physician

Martinsville, VA (August 14, 2015) – Memorial Hospital today announced that Pardeep Kumar, M.D., has joined its staff and will begin seeing patients at its new primary care clinic Smith River Health & Wellness, a part of Martinsville Physician Practices, which opens in Bassett Forks on Monday, August 17.

“Memorial Hospital and Martinsville Physician Practices are excited to welcome Dr. Kumar and his family to our community,” said Jason Blevins, Market Director for Physician Practices.  “Dr. Kumar has excellent training and experience and is a very welcomed addition to the great team we have at Martinsville Physician Practices.”

Dr. Kumar comes to Memorial Hospital from Lutheran Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY, where he completed his family medicine residency. He graduated from Dow Medical College in Pakistan in 2001. Dr. Kumar is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.   

Dr. Kumar lives in Martinsville along with his wife, also a physician, and their eighteen month old son. 

The community is invited to a ribbon cutting and open house at the new clinic on Tuesday, August 18 from 4-7pm. The event will feature free food, screenings, tours of the facility and an opportunity to meet Dr. Kumar and the staff. 

Dr. Kumar will begin seeing patients at his office Smith River Health and Wellness (5784 Virginia Avenue, Bassett) on August 17.
