Mike Rogers

"The team I trusted for heart attack care"

After years of responding to emergency situations as a police officer, Mike Rogers knew he needed care right away when he started experiencing chest pains.

When Mike arrived at the Emergency Department of Sovah Health - Martinsville (formerly Memorial Hospital), he was promptly given an EKG, a nitroglycerin patch and some medication before heading into surgery.

Dr. Deepak Banerjee, an interventional cardiologist at Sovah Health - Martinsville and Southern Virginia Cardiovascular Consultants, performed a catheterization, a procedure to look for blockages in his arteries. Dr. Banerjee discovered that there was significant blockage in three arteries, one of which was blocked 90%.

"When I woke up from the procedure, [Dr. Banerjee] told me everything he did. And I've had no problems since then. I think the world of that guy. I have nothing but good things to say about the staff at Memorial Hospital."

In particular, Mike has formed strong friendships with the entire staff at Southern Virginia Cardiovascular Consultants, including nurses Shea Haga and Diane Bond.

"Every single time I've been to the hospital, or my mom or dad have been to the hospital, we've been extremely pleased with the service we've received."
